Project Identification: Career Connect Campus - Furniture Procurement & Bid Packages Project Location: Career Connect Campus 3500 Vanrick Drive Kalamazoo, Michigan 49001 Project Description: Furniture Procurement and Furniture Bid Packages for the KRESA Career Connect Campus F. Construction Contract: Bids will be received for the following Work: 1. General Contract Bids shall be received from one prime contractor for all work as outlined in the Specifications and Construction Drawings. 2. All applicable laws, ordinances, and the rules and regulations of all authorities having jurisdiction over the construction of the project shall apply to the project throughout. 3. Contractors shall note that the project is subject to the Common Construction Wage Act (effective July 1, 2015) for record-keeping, and all terms of this Act shall be followed in their entirety. 4. The contract form for the project will be AIA Document A101-2017. 5. Contract will be made to the responsive, responsible bidder awarded by the Owner. a. Bids will only be accepted from approved alternate manufacturers as noted in the product specifications. b. All bids must match provided product specifications and design intent. c. It is the responsibility of the Owner to make all final contract decisions and the Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids. 6. Kalamazoo Regional Educational Service Agency is tax-exempt. Contractors are responsible for appropriate sales/use tax in accordance with the State of Michigan Department of Treasury Bidders will check in at the front desk. Bids received after the specified date and time will not be accepted and will be returned unopened. No electronic bids will be accepted. C. Bids shall be submitted on the forms provided with all blanks populated. Bid form and other documents required to be submitted with the bid shall be enclosed in a sealed envelope with the Bidder's name, addressed to the attention of Tom Zahrt with the title Career Connect Center - Furniture Procurement & Bid Packages. As required by State Law (P.A 232 of 2004), all bids shall be accompanied by a sworn and notarized statement disclosing any familial relationship that exists between Kalamazoo Regional Educational Service Agency (KRESA) or any employee of the bidder and any member of the school board or the superintendent of the school district; and a sworn and notarized Affidavit of Compliance-Iran Economics Sanctions Act. The district shall not accept a bid that does not include the sworn and notarized disclosure statements. B. Bidders will be required to provide Bid security in the form of a surety bond, certified check, or cashier's check in the amount of 5 percent of the bid amount. C. Bids received after the designated time for closing will be returned unopened. D. No bids may be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after the opening of bids. E. The Owner reserves the right to withdraw this bid request at any time and for any reason and to issue such clarifications, modifications and/or amendments as it may deem appropriate. The Owner also reserves the right to waive any informality in or reject any part of the bid, accept or reject any of all bids, alternates, or proposals, and to accept those bids, alternates, or proposals that, in Owner's judgement, serve the Owner's best interest. Successful bidder shall begin the Work on receipt of the Notice to Proceed and shall complete the Work within the Contract Time. B. Furniture and delivery dates are subject to change and will be coordinated by the Owner with the awarded bidder. Bidders must be properly licensed under the laws governing their respective trades and be able to obtain insurance and bonds required for the Work. B. A 100% Performance Bond, and a separate Labor and Material Payment Bond, and Insurance in a form acceptable to the Owner will be required as part of each Bid. C. Each bid proposal shall include all labor, material, and services necessary to complete the project in strict accordance with the contract documents as prepared and on file in the office of Wightman & Associates, Inc. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids. D. Each bidder is responsible for inspecting the project site and for reading and being thoroughly familiar with the Contract Documents and Specifications. Failure of omission of any Bidder to do any of the foregoing shall not relieve the Bidder from any obligation with respect to their bid.
