Sky Train Optical Transport Network, Phase 2. The SkyTrain OTN was originally implemented in the late 1990s (for the Expo Line) and early 2000s (for the Millennium Line) and is based on equipment from OTN Systems. The network has since seen several upgrades to meet increases in demand due to both advances in technology and expansion of the SkyTrain service. Areas of the OTN system require an overall redesign and upgrade to ensure long term supportability and operability with a level of redundancy, resiliency, and reliability as prescribed by rail industry best practices. TIMELINE: Request for proposal for Owners Engineer services, is closed; preferred proponent is unreleased. The selected owners engineer (OE) will act as the focal point of contact on the OTN phase 2 project, ensuring OTN phase 2 successful completion. This involves taking full responsibility of planning, leading, and supervising design, and implementation interfaces across all relevant disciplines. Further update in late summer 2025, upon approvals. *TransLink does not disclose its budgetary information.
