The Lexington City School System will be accepting bids for mowing system properties. Contract price shall include the following: 1. Mowing and trimming the grounds on a weekly basis at Caywood Elementary School, the buildings on Dixon Street, the Board of Education on Monroe Avenue, and the Lexington Middle School on Airways Drive. 2. Mowing Caywood Elementary School football field three (3) times a week including bagging it one (1) time a week. 3. Edge Caywood Elementary School walking track every two (2) months. 4. Trimming rip-rap at Caywood Elementary School every two (2) months. 5. Trash pick-up is to be done prior to each mowing. 6. Spraying of herbicide around buildings, fences, parking lots, curbing, gabion stone areas, and all playground obstacles on the grounds of all properties listed above as needed. NOTE: Herbicide shall not be sprayed in erodible areas, or areas that could potentially erode. Herbicide shall not be sprayed vigorously or carelessly on any of the listed properties. 7. Mowing the rear yard at Lexington Middle School and the practice football field at the former airport. 8. Mowing shall not extend over two (2) days per week in any one location. All four (4) locations should be completed within three (3) days, weather permitting. 9. Mowing cannot occur during school hours. The contract is effective for one (1) year (July 1, 2024-June 30, 2025) but may be renewed for additional years if services have been acceptable. Bids shall include all costs associated with providing the above services during the mowing season of April-September with mowing beginning no earlier than the first week of April and concluding no later than the last week of September.
