Questions Due Date/Time: 05/16/2024 12:00 PM, CST Location: Lake County Purchasing : 18 N County St. - 9th Floor Waukegan, Illinois 60085 United States Description: The abatement work includes the removal of designated ACM floor tile, floor tile mastic, ceiling plaster, and pipe fitting insulation from the basement mainframe room at the Lake County Administrative and Courts Complex. ACM ceiling plaster will also be removed in the G27 stairwell. Abatement in the mainframe room will be completed before the G27 stairwell and adjacent storage room. Scaffolding can be installed in the G27 stairwell during abatement in the mainframe room. This work will be done in two phases in each work area where ceiling plaster is being removed. The first phase will include asbestos abatement of the acoustical ceiling plaster skim coat. After passing asbestos clearance sampling, the second phase will include removal of the non-ACM ceiling plaster base coat. See Exhibit B drawings for details of each work area. Work includes construction of isolation barriers, negative pressure enclosures, decontamination units and installation of high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filtered air units. All work will be performed in accordance with these specifications, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Occupational Safety and Health Association (OSHA), the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) and local requirements. This project includes the removal of asbestos-containing material (ACM) floor tile, floor tile mastic, pipe fitting insulation, ceiling plaster skim coat, and non-ACM ceiling plaster base coat from the Mainframe Room at the Lake County Administrative and Courts Complex. The ACM ceiling plaster skim coat and the non-ACM ceiling plaster base coat will be removed in the G27 Stairwell. ACM pipe insulation will be removed from one fitting in a storage room, adjacent to the G27 Stairwell.
