Reference Number 0000351597 This Request for Qualifications (RFQ) is for the Auraria Higher Education Center (AHEC) to select an architectural/engineering (A/E) consultant who will provide Historic Structures Assessments (HSAs) for the Auraria 9th Street Historic District. Also known as the 9th Street Park, the district represents the oldest residential block left intact within the City of Denver and half the homes in the district predate the State of Colorado's creation. The homes were saved from demolition and restored during the creation of AHEC and the Auraria Campus in the early 1970s. For this project, AHEC will work with the selected Historic A/E team as the primary consultant for the completion of HSAs on thirteen (13) structures in the 9th Street Park. The HSAs will focus predominantly on building exteriors, but will also include mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP) and structural analysis to provide important historical context and identify a prioritized list of projects. The HSA information will be used to work with on and off-campus communities to develop a comprehensive plan for the preservation, rehabilitation, and restoration of the thirteen 9th Street Park homes. Funding for this project is through a grant from the State Historical Fund (SHF) and a 10% cash match from AHEC. The SHF grant number is 2023-02-043.
