The following specifications are provided as a minimal requirement only. The Town will consider any product/service that meets or exceeds the minimum requirements. The purpose of the ITB is to solicit bids to establish a contract for the provision of repairing and replacing guardrails on an annual as-needed basis. The awarded Contractor shall fully execute the work to include the repair and or replacement of guardrails at various locations within the Town of Abingdon without exception, all materials, labor, equipment, appliances, clean-up, applicable sales, use and other taxes, building permit or fees, the Contractor's labor, overhead. The work includes all labor, equipment, and materials to install, repair, replace or maintain guardrail at locations within the town as specified in the BID PROPOSAL, agreement. Prior to beginning the Work, the Contractor may be required to attend a pre-construction meeting scheduled by the Town representative to clarify the Contractor's planned operations for prosecuting and completing the Work in accordance with the Contract. Question Deadline 05/16/2024 at 4:00 PM ET Sealed bids will be received by Michael Surrett, Public Works Director, at the Public Works Administration Building, 299 Kings Mountain Drive, Abingdon, Virginia 24210 at which time they will be opened and publicly read aloud. Owner Rights: The Town of Abingdon reserves the right to reject any or all Bids at any time without penalty. Bond Notes: Award to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. Performance and Payment bonds in the amount of 100% of the contract price will be required with the agreement. (The Town will require a 5% bid bond. All BIDS will remain subject to acceptance for sixty (60) days after the day of the BID opening. A conditional or qualified BID will not be accepted. Work Completion Date: Monday, June 30, 2025 Liquidity Damages: Bidder further agrees to pay as liquidated damages, the sum of $500.00 for each consecutive calendar day thereafter.
