Remodeling and renovation of a military facility in San Diego, California. Completed plans call for the remodel of a military facility.

All RFIs shall be submitted no later than 1400, Pacific Standard Time (PST), on 9 May 2024 via email to devon.j.gilpatrick.civ@us.navy.mil. Any RFIs submitted after the cutoff date may not receive a response. Project Location: The project location is building number 46, on Rosecrans Boulevard at Subase/Main Base at Naval Base Point Loma, San Diego, CA. B46 is located in the Fuel Farm area of Main Base. Project Description: The goal of this project is to provide the client a complete and useable remodeled facility to meet the requirements of EOD MOB-1 (Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit One). Building B-46 was built in 1933 as a barracks for soldiers serving at Fort Rosecrans, the Army base that later became Naval Base Point Loma. The floor is a cast-in-place steel reinforced concrete slab which spans over a crawl space. The roof structure is comprised of wood trusses which span from exterior wall to exterior wall. The original steam radiators and boiler have been removed. The original galvanized iron water supply piping still exists and is in use. This is a Design-Build project. The KTR shall produce all design drawings, including floor plans, interior elevations and details, required to document and communicate the design intent. The KTR shall bear the responsibility of obtaining and coordinating all trades, sub-contractors and inspections required in performing the work as specified herein to provide a Turn-Key type project. The Contractor shall provide all management, tools, supplies, equipment, parts and labor necessary to build and certify this project. The word "provide" in this scope shall mean "to order, purchase, deliver to site, assemble, install per manufacturer's recommendations, connect and test for proper functioning. This Statement of Work (SOW) describes the type and extent of work required under this contract and the KTR'S submitting proposal shall supplement and augment the SOW as required to provide a complete, structurally engineered, turn-key finished product at the end of the project. The KTR shall perform based on construction industry standard practice and in compliance with the applicable manufacturing drawings, specifications, codes, regulations, criteria and other applicable standards specified in delivering this contract requirement to achieve a complete usable finished product, not limited to requirements specified below. Detailed Project Description: 1. Demolish existing carpet flooring and wall base in all rooms. 2. Install Luxury Vinyl Planking and rubber wall cove base in Passageways and Male Locker Room. 3. Install new carpet tile and rubber wall cove base in Offices and Classrooms and other spaces with new flooring. 4. Replace electrical panels and subpanels per requirements in Div 26 below. 5. Install new electrical conduit per requirements in Div 26 below. 6. Install new conduit with pull tape from the NMCI Closet to various rooms per the drawings in Part 6 and the requirements in Div 27 below. 7. Replace all existing electrical power wiring and outlets with new per requirements in Div 26 below. 8. Demolish existing surface-mounted fluorescent light fixtures. Recycle fixture components. 9. Install new LED lighting to provide code-required light levels. 10. Revise HVAC system per requirements below. ADD OPTION 1 11. Demolish all existing cast iron water supply pipes inside the building up to the water meter point of connection outside. Replace hot and cold water supply pipes with new type-L copper pipes to comply with current code requirements. Replace all associated angle stops, shut off valves, pressure regulators, elbows, etc. 12. Demolish the existing water heater and install a new unit of the same or larger capacity. Patch and paint surfaces damaged by the plumbing repair project. 13. Install new refrigerated drinking fountain with bottle filler at location of previously removed drinking fountain. Addendum #1-#7 have been issued as of 6-14-2024.
