Terminating and testing fiber The Project includes, but is not limited to, performing the following Work: Install fiber optic trunk cable in both new and existing conduit at Civic park servicing the library, community center, clay arts building and Park Place, with a connection into an existing fiber pull box on Civic Drive, install new conduits, junction boxes, and fiber optic equipment in said buildings, installing new elbows and conduit into new and existing pull boxes, and terminating and testing the fiber optic cables and connections. This Project is in the City of Walnut Creek at: Civic Park Approximate cost of construction: $150,000 No bids will be received unless made on the Bid Proposal and Schedule form provided in the Project Manual. The City of Walnut Creek reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informality in the bids. All bids shall be accompanied by cash, a bid bond, a cashier's check or certified check payable to the City of Walnut Creek in an amount equal to 10% of the total amount bid. Upon award of the contract, the successful Bidder shall furnish a bond for faithful performance in the amount of 100% of the total bid; the successful Bidder shall also furnish a bond to secure the payment of all claims for labor and material in the amount of 100% of the total bid. The successful Bidder and subcontractors are required to pay for and obtain a City of Walnut Creek Business License. Retention: The Contractor may elect to receive 100% of payments due under the contract from time to time, without retention of any portion of the payment by the public agency, by depositing securities of equivalent value with the City or an escrow agent in accordance with Public Contract Code Section 22300. Such securities, if deposited by the Contractor, shall be valued by the City's Administrative Services Director whose decision on valuation of the securities shall be final.
