Site work and paving for a sidewalk / parking lot in Cheshire, Connecticut. Conceptual plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.
The parking lot at the Senior Center is deteriorating and reaching the end of its useful life. Replacement is required to maintain safe pedestrian and vehicle access. The handicap parking area of the lot will require grading to meet current ADA regulations. The age of the existing parking lot is 23 years (paved in 1999). This request was developed using the Connecticut DAS bid pricing and in consultation with contractors. The useful life of a new parking lot is 20+ years. As of September 18, 2024, this project is included in the City's 2023-2028 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). Further information regarding a design firm and timeline for construction have not been established. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
