Bids will be awarded on May 21, 2024. The work for which bids are asked includes the following: Project Boma Road East Starting 298 ft east of Willow Way. Approximate Total Square Feet 44,200 SF Work to include fine grade and compact existing gravel base, preparing for paving, pave and maintain average compacted thickness of 3 inches of hot mix asphalt, road pitches 2% either side of center line of finish grade. Bids shall be submitted in an opaque envelope and marked with the name and address of the bidder. If the bid is sent through the mail, or other delivery system, the sealed envelope shall be enclosed in a separate envelope marked with the notation "BID ENCLOSED" and addressed to Fortune M. No proposal will be accepted unless accompanied by a certified check or bid bond equal to at least 5% of the amount bid, payable to the Owner as a guarantee that, if the bid is accepted, the bidder will execute and file the proper contract and bond within 15 days after the award of the contract. Bidder is required to deliver the original certified check or bid bond within 72 hours of the bid opening to Town of Shelby, attention Fortune Berg, Town Clerk. The certified check or bid bond will be returned to the bidder as soon as the contract is signed, and if after 15 days the bidder shall fail to do so, the certified check or bid bond shall be forfeited to the Owner as liquidated damages. The Town of Shelby reserves the right to retain the deposits of the two (2) lowest bidders for a period not to exceed 61 days after the date and time set for the opening of bids. No bids may be withdrawn for a period of 61 Days after the date and time set for the opening of bids. Bidders will be required to provide performance and payment bonds of 100 percent of bid amount. Owner reserves the right to waive any informality or to reject all bids.
