Reference Number 00004050168 The Ministry is seeking a Contractor for the removal of (1) culvert and (1) bridge on Crown Lands located in the Ministrys Northwest Region, Nipigon District. Scope of Work The Ministry is seeking a Contractor for the removal of (1) culvert and (1) bridge on Crown Lands located in the Ministry s Northwest Region, Nipigon District. Construction Services for the Project will include: brushing, clearing and fixing up of existing gravel roads to access the Sites for the purpose of completing the Construction Services; removal and disposal of the existing bridge and culvert. The Bridges were originally constructed as part of old forestry access road networks that were not intended to be permanent and have been left unused and unattended for several years. The Ministry has determined that the roads are no longer required for resource management purposes and the current state of disrepair of the Bridges may pose risks to public safety and fish spawning habitat. The Project is part of the Ministrys effort to safely decommission the roads and associated water crossings so that the lands may return to their natural state. Access to the Bridges is over Crown Land via these old access roads. As the lands return to their natural states, the roads have become overgrown with brush in some areas, which may pose impediments to access the Bridges for the purpose of their removal and decommissioning.
