The University is seeking to contract with an architecture firm to provide conceptual design for the Student Union building project. The University is seeking qualifications for program, conceptual design, and cost estimate for a new Student Union building. The majority of the space in the building is dedicated to student life functions, including student work space, assembly and recreation areas and retail space. The funding for the project will be from student fees generated by a student referendum vote. Stakeholder meetings will be used to develop consensus on the space which should be able to evolve over time as needs progress prior to final design and in the future. The conceptual renderings and cost estimates will be used for the student referendum discussions and vote. The project schedule and milestone deadlines will be critical to meet both referendum timelines and submissions to the Regents. As such, the design team shall participate in weekly team meetings to support the project's tight eight week schedule. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
