Asphalt Repaving Driveways, Parking Lots and Other Specified Areas All bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq., Affirmative Action Against Discrimination (N.J.A.C. 17:27-1 et seq.) Contractors bidding on this project are to comply with the requirements of the Prevailing Wage Rate Determination pursuant to N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.25. A bidder on a public works project for a Board of Education where the cost of the work exceeds $20,000.00 must first have been qualified by the Department of the Treasury, Division of Property Management and Construction, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-27 through 33. Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid bond, cashier's check or certified check made payable to the Hamilton Township Board of Education for ten percent (10%) of the amount of the total bid, however, not to exceed $20,000.00. Corporate bidders are required by law (Chapter 33, Laws of 1977) to submit a list of names and addresses of all stockholders owning 10% or more of their stock. All contractors named in this proposal, shall possess a valid Contractor's Registration Certificate pursuant to N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.48 et seq., at the time the proposal is received by the Board of Education. Every request for such interpretations should be made in writing to the School Board Administrator/Board Secretary and must be received at least ten (10) business days prior to the date fixed for the opening of bids to be given consideration. The contractor shall provide all labor, tools, equipment and materials to perform all work necessary to the successful completion of asphalt milling and asphalt resurfacing as identified herein. The asphalt repaving work consists of milling, milling depth 2", sweeping, tack coating, and paving with 2" of compacted NJDOT I5 surface course asphalt. Limits to be sealed with hot rubberized joint sealer. Pricing shall include restriping of parking lot areas only. Lump Sum bid by location should include an estimated 10% of paving area requiring excavation and repair of subbase material to repave driveways, parking lots and other specified areas. The contractor is to provide a unit cost for the repair work that is consistent with the amount bid for the 10% area of the paving projected to be repaired. This unit cost is to be used as both an added cost to the contract for areas that require repair that exceed the 10%, as well as a deduct from the contract amount for areas that require less than the 10% repairs included in the bid. Completion of work includes general cleaning, removal and disposal of excess material and debris and acceptance by the Director of Facilities or his designee. B. Prevailing wages apply to this contract. C. Contractor is responsible to verify all field measuresments and quantity of required asphalt for each site. The site addresses and type of work to be performed at each site will be provided by the Director of Facilities or his designee. Contractor should be prepared to begin work by June 26, 2024. All work must be completed by August 12, 2024.
