Site work and asbestos abatement for a fire / police facility in Fort Worth, Texas. Completed plans call for site work for a fire / police facility; and for asbestos abatement for a fire / police facility.

Tarrant County is seeking contractors to bid on the removal and disposal of asbestos containing material including, but not limited to, cementitious ceiling texture, exterior soffit grey texture, pipe and fitting insulation, and window glazing. Abatement activities are required prior to renovations of the training center. Award will be all or none. Bidder must bid all items. Question Deadline: 5/15/2024 12:00 PM (CT) Questions from bidders will be addressed at the pre-bid conference. Any vendor who submits a bid without attending the scheduled pre-bid conference and site walk does so at his own risk. Such applicant who submits a bid and does not attend the scheduled pre-bid conference and site walk waives any right to assert claims due to undiscovered conditions. The asbestos abatement scope of work is for building 1500 located at the Tarrant County Resource Connection campus with a total square footage of 41,714 SF. The current state of the building is functional and is occupied. However, occupants will be vacated prior to the abatement. The building consists of brick veneer, aluminum glass storefronts at entrances and load bearing exterior walls constructed of both structural steel superstructure and CMU block. Interior finishes consist of various material types consisting of lay-in grid ceilings, gypsum board ceilings, drywall and CMU block interior walls, tiled bathrooms, terrazzo flooring, tile, and carpet flooring. Most of the walls are constructed above ceiling and are not load bearing. This scope of work shall include all, but not limited to, labor, equipment, supervision, removal, disposal, and materials necessary to complete the abatement of select building materials referenced in the contract documents. Materials to be removed have been tested and have come back positive for asbestos containing materials. During the abatement process for building 1500, there will be protective measures constructed around the work areas, checkpoints for access to the work areas and air monitoring.
