Site work for a mixed-use development in Kyle, Texas. Completed plans call for site work for a educational facility; and playground / park / athletic field.

As of June 12, 2024 this project has not yet been awarded. Timeline for the award was not yet been established. The Hays BID Package 10 projects support a barrier-free playground experience for all students throughout Hays CISD. The project provides key accessibility upgrades, including but not limited to, improved accessible routes to play areas, replacing or providing new ADA-compliant play equipment and fall protection, as well as shade coverings for specific areas currently not covered. Hays CISD is seeking proposals from vendors with a current cooperative contract. The impacted campuses include; Blanco Vista, Camino Real, Carpenter Hill, Elm Grove, Fuentes, Hemphill, Kyle, Negley, Pfluger, Science Hall, Tobias, Tom Green, and Uhland Elementary Schools. Inquiries and requests for information affecting the quotes must be in writing and shall be directed to Wendy Cordero, Buyer, via email (Wendy.Cordero@hayscisd.net). . To provide Hays CISD sufficient time to adequately prepare responses to vendor inquiries, all questions must be submitted by Monday, May 13, 2024 by 12:00 p.m. CST. Contact with Hays CISD personnel other than Wendy Cordero or her designee regarding this solicitation may be reason for elimination from the selection process. Any prospective respondent detecting a conflict or ambiguity in the quotes should notify the Buyer, in writing, setting forth the grounds of the alleged conflict or ambiguity and requesting the issuance of a clarifying addendum. If Hays CISD believes that clarification is necessary or proper, a clarifying addendum will be distributed to all prospective vendors. Hays CISD will not be bound by any oral or other informal explanation of the requirements of the quote documents. Hays CISD is seeking pricing for Playground Improvement from vendors with current cooperative contracts for various Elementary Schools. 3.2 Respondent to provide proposed construction schedule, including sequencing, milestones, and durations, that will achieve substantial completion for the entire scope no later than December 01, 2024. 3.3 The contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and related items required to complete the demolition work as indicated by the contract documents. 3.4 Contractor to verify all dimensions. 3.5 All accessible routes (other than ramps) shall not exceed a slope of 1:20, and cross slopes shall not exceed a slope of 1:50. 3.6 The drawings indicate general site conditions per project investigation. The contractor shall anticipate possible deviations from these drawings. 3.7 The contractor shall supervise and direct the work, using their best skill and attention. They shall be solely responsible for all means, methods, techniques, sequences, and procedures and for coordinating all portions of the work under the contract. 3.8 Any questions concerning ownership of salvageable material shall be answered by the owner or owner's representative. Salvage any items required to complete new work. 3.9 Protect existing vegetation, including existing trees and tree root areas during construction. Revegetate damaged areas adjacent to new construction; the contractor shall maintain vegetated areas for 3 weeks after initial planting. 3.10 Contractor shall mark sidewalk locations with landscaping paint and review final layout of sidewalks with owner and architect prior to concrete installation. 3.11 Contractor shall replace and refill fall protection material if it is lost or removed during construction. 3.12 All ramps to comply with 2012 Texas Accessibility Standards. Installed ramps should not infringe upon fall protection areas around existing play equipment. 3.13 Contractor shall ensure grade at sidewalk aligns 1"-2" below top of sidewalk. Contractor shall cut/fill adjacent grade as required to provide a 4:1 max slope. Repair/replace any disturbed vegetation. 3.14 Dimensions, areas, and shapes of new pip surfacing are for illustrative purposes and communicate general design intent. The exact shape and dimensions to be coordinated by the contractor. 3.15 Contractor to provide allowance to demolish, install, grade, and revegetate 200 linear feet of sidewalk. Assume sidewalk is 5' wide and shall be replaced at 20 locations (10' length each). 3.16 Review and Acknowledge Attachment B 4. CONTRACTOR USE OF SITE 4.1 Limit use of owner's property as follows: 4.1.1 Protect from harm all existing structures and/or features of the properties that are not specified for modification or removal. 4.1.2 Stockpile materials and store equipment in areas designated by the owner. Do not stockpile materials or store equipment in any manner that will prevent the owner from performing routine maintenance or gaining access to any critical areas.
