Question Deadline 05/28/2024 To receive consideration, such requests must be received at least seven (7) days prior to the date fixed for the opening of bids. This project includes rehabilitation of several streets within the City. Major items of work include: Installation of approximately 1,765 tons of superpave asphaltic concrete Patching approximately 25 square yards of pavement Patching approximately 15 square yards of concrete pavement Cold planing approximately 12,185 square yards of existing asphaltic pavement ENGINEER'S ESTIMATE: $538,200 to $583,300. Each bid must be accompanied by bid security made payable to Owner in an amount of 5 percent of bidder's maximum bid price and in the form of a certified check, cashier's check or a bid bond. The successful bidder will be required to obtain a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond each in the amount of 100% of the contract amount. All bonds shall be executed by such sureties as are named in U.S. Department of the Treasury Circular 570. A bond signed by an agent or attorney-in-fact must be accompanied by a certified copy of that individual's authority to bind the surety. Bidders may not withdraw their bid within forty-five (45) days after the actual date of opening thereof. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids for just cause in accordance with Louisiana. Liquidated Damages for Failure to Enter into Contract: The successful bidder, upon failure or refusal to execute and deliver the contract and bonds within 10 working days after receipt of a Notice of Award, shall forfeit to the Owner, as Liquidated Damages for such failure or refusal, the security deposited with the bid. Time of Completion and Liquidated Damages: Bidder agrees to commence work on or before a date to be specified in a written Notice to Proceed issued by the Owner and to fully complete the project within 90 consecutive calendar days thereafter. Bidder agrees to pay as Liquidated Damages the sum of $500.00 for each consecutive calendar day thereafter until the project is accepted as Substantially Complete by Owner as hereinafter provided in the General Requirements. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
