Site work, new construction and renovation of a mixed-use development in Houston, Texas. Completed plans call for the expansion of a laboratory facility and medical facility.

The Work of Project is defined by the Contract Documents and consists of the following: 1. The scope of project as identified and outlined in the Master Plan includes the relocation of the EKG and Echo Lab from Level 5 (in the Ben Taub Hospital) to Level 2 in the Ben Taub Hospital. The total area is approximately 3,254 SF and will involve the renovation of existing space (Shell Space, Discharge Pharmacy, portions of Dirty Cart Holding, Trash Holding, Electrical Room and Mechanical) to Echo/Stress rooms, TEE room, Reading Room, Holding Bays and support spaces and other Work A guaranty shall be submitted with each bid that the bidder will execute and furnish a performance and/or payment bond within ten days after award of the contract and receipt of performance/payment bond application form. Guaranty may be submitted in either of these forms: A. Individual bid bond payable to Harris County for 5% of the total amount of each separate bid, or B. Bank cashier's check payable to Harris County for 5% of the total amount of each separate bid. If the successful bidder submits a bank cashier's check as guaranty, Harris County may elect to hold the check until all provisions of the contract have been completed, or require the contractor to make a performance and/or payment bond. The performance and/or payment bond shall be in the amount equal to the amount of money to be paid by the County under the contract, unless otherwise stated, and shall be executed by a surety company authorized to do business in the State of Texas. The prescribed performance and/or payment bond application is available to the bidder from Harris County, and is the only form Harris County will accept. REJECTION OF SUBSTITUTION REQUEST A. Substitution may be rejected without review if: 1. Submitted after stipulated time period. 2. Not submitted in accord with this section. 3. Acceptance will require substantial revision of Contract Documents, building or systems. 4. Substitution request does not indicate specific item for which request is submitted. 5. Substitution Request form is not properly executed and signed. 6. Substitution request for manufacturer acceptance only. 7. Subcontractor or supplier requested directly. 8. Insufficient information submitted. 9. Substitution color, pattern, size, or physical attributes do not comply with base specified item. 10. Substitution does not appear to comply with requirements of specifications for base product. 11. Owner or Architect does not want to consider.
