The City of Ventura is soliciting bids for: All Labor and Materials to Repair the Gazebo at Plaza Park. Lowest Responsive and Responsible Bidder. The bidder who fully complies with all the bid requirements and whose past performance, reputation, and financial capability is deemed acceptable, and who has offered the most advantageous pricing or cost benefit, based on the criteria stipulated in this bid package. All questions regarding this Invitation to Bid (ITB) shall be submitted via email to Patricia Zavala, Senior Buyer, in the Purchasing and Contracts Division at pzavala@cityofventura.ca.gov PRIOR to Thursday May 16, 2024, at 3:00 PM. Any questions submitted after the deadline shall be rejected. Any response will be in the form of an addendum. The City shall be the sole judge of the successful bidder hereunder. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids. Scope of Work: The City of Ventura is seeking a qualified contractor to furnish all materials, labor, and all other necessary equipment and supplies to repair the Gazebo at Plaza Park o Project Management planning and design. o Mobilization and demobilization. o Procurement of materials and equipment. o Set up safety containment. Temporary chain link panels. o Sandblast all metal structures. o Repair welds as needed from sandblasting or preexisting. o Apply a rust inhibitor on metal surfaces. o Fabricate and secure all hand holes. o Re-paint metal and wood structures. o Replace any preexisting damage to wood pieces. o Sandblast the handrails and repaint. o Resecure and loose handrails. o Repairs small sections of concrete steps. o Switch to LED lighting, like for like. Type 2 bypass o Buff copper/tin roof sections with Brasso, or city representative approved product o Buff memorial plaque. S. Fir streetside of gazebo. o Re-seal concrete joints with Sikaflex w/self-leveling. o PSI wash all concrete in and around the Gazebo. o Apply concrete sealant non-slip under the gazabo concrete floor. o Clean the area for public use when finished. o Final walkthrough to sign off as complete. 2. Bidder's Security: NOT REQUIRED FOR ITB NO. B-130000772 A bid deposit in an amount equal to at least 10% of the bid may be required as a bid security by the City. The bid security may only be in cash, a cashier's check, a certified check made payable to the City, or a bid bond. If the bid security is a bond, it shall be executed by an insurer authorized to issue surety bonds in the State of California. The bid security must be executed by the Bidder and enclosed with the bid in the sealed bid envelope. 3. Faithful Performance Bond: NOT REQUIRED FOR ITB NO. B-130000772 If required, the Bidder will furnish the City with a surety bond conditioned upon the faithful performance of the contract. This may take the form of a bond executed by a surety company authorized to do business in the State of California and approved by the City, an endorsed Certificate of Deposit, or a money order or a certified check drawn on a solvent bank. The bond shall be in a sum equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the amount of the contract price. Such bond or deposit shall be forfeited to the City in the event that bidder receiving the contract shall fail or refuse to fulfill the requirements and all terms and conditions of the contract.
