The work consists of the following: The proposed scope of this project includes the partial demolition, renovation, additions and alterations to the existing building located at 350 Crooked Hill Road, Brentwood. The initial phase of the project includes two one story additions. A second phase is planned to incorporate a two-story addition. The overall property is approximately 6 acres and is partly wooded. Wooded areas will be cleared and the site will be completely redeveloped to support the renovation and expansion. The building will be used as a Community Center and Work Force Training Facility Bids for this contract shall be submitted in a separate sealed envelope with the name of the contract clearly noted on the outside of the envelope. Bids shall be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total Base Bid, made payable to the Suffolk County Comptroller. This bid bond will be held as a guarantee that in the event the bid is accepted and contract awarded to the Bidder, the contract will be duly executed and properly secured. Please note that all construction projects over $250,000 advertised after July 17, 2008 will be subject to training requirements pursuant to Section 220-h of the NYS Labor Law. Please note that all construction contracts involving construction, reconstruction, improvement, rehabilitation, installation, alteration, renovation, demolition of, or otherwise providing for any building, facility or physical structure of any kind with a value in excess of $250,000 will be subject to Apprenticeship Training Program requirements pursuant to Article 23, Section 816b of the NYS Labor Law and Suffolk County Resolution No. 1866- 2014, specifically requiring graduate of apprentice(s) in the trade(s) called for within the construction contract within specified time period preceding the bid date of project.
