The Mid-Halton Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP), which was originally commissioned in 1991 with a capacity of 20 MLD, is located in the Town of Oakville, north of the North Service Road between Third Line and Bronte Road. This treatment plant services portions of the Towns of Oakville, Milton, and Halton Hills, and the City of Burlington. The plant completed Phase III expansion in 2010 and a subsequent Phase IV and V expansion was commissioned in 2018 which increased the plant rated capacity from 75 MLD to 125 MLD. Sewage is pumped into the WWTP from the North WWPS and the Third Line WWPS. Third Line Wastewater Pumping Station (WWPS) (2069 North Service Road) is a reinforced concrete split wet well-dry well type pumping station, with a firm rated capacity of 131 ML/day originally designed with provision for five (5) pumps, currently equipped with four pumps (three duty, one standby), three Worthington 250 hp centrifugal pumps rated at 506 L/s at 26.5 m TDH (installed 1991) and one Flygt dry pit submersible pump rated at 520 L/s at 26.5 m TDH (installed 2000, replaced 2022); two 750 mm diameter forcemains to the influent flow distribution chamber; and one 1,500 kW standby power genset (installed 2010).
