Town of Berkley Highway Department will receive bid proposals for the following materials: Road Materials 1.) Type I Bituminous concrete - price "at plant" and "in place" (4,000 tons plus or minus) - Cold patch - at plant and delivered 2.) Road salt - delivered (35 ton delivery) - 1500 tons plus or minus - must be delivered within 3 business days from the date ordered. 3.) Screened Sand - delivered 4.) Single Chip Seal - delivered in place - 10,000 yards plus 5.) Double Chip Seal - delivered in place - 10,000 yards plus 6.) Road oil, all grades plus asphalt emulsions - delivered in place 7.) Catch basins, and Manholes - A. precast and B. block (10 plus) 8.) Manhole and catch basin covers (10 plus) - 4 in, 6 in. 8 in. 9.) Guard rail by the foot, installed (100 ft. plus) 10.) Concrete (50 yards plus) priced by yard - delivered to site 11.) Crack Sealing delivered in place - by the gallon 12.) Full Depth Reclamation - priced by the square yd. with and without calcium chloride added 13.) Line striping by the foot - 30 miles or more. 4" white or yellow chlorinated rubber w/glass. 14.) 6 inch to 8 inch Rip Rap Rock (Full Trailer Minimum) Delivered 15.) 1 1/2 in. Washed Stone (Full Trailer Minimum) Delivered 16.) 1 1/2 in. Processed Gravel M1.03.1 (Full Trailer Minimum) Delivered 17.) Redi Rock - 28" Bottom Block or Equivalent 18.) Redi Rock - 28" Middle Block or Equivalent 19.) Redi Rock - 28" Half Middle Block or Equivalent 20.) Redi Rock - Freestanding Top Block or Equivalent 21.) Redi Rock - Freestanding Garden Corner Block or Equivalent 22.) Box Culvert - 3 Sided 6ft L x 3ft H x 6ft W insider Diameter 23.) 10 inch x 2 Foot - 84ft L Concrete Footing 24.) 10 inch x 4 Foot - 42ft L Concrete Footing. All road materials and labor must meet with Massachusetts Highway specifications. The Town of Berkley prefers materials to originate or be produced in the U.S.A. Bidders must include a Certificate of Non Collusion in with their bid. All road material bid summaries must also be approved by District 5 Massachusetts State Highway Office. All contractors must be pre-qualified with Mass Highway's Construction Contracts Engineer Class of work pavement and resurfacing up to $225,000 and must submit a "Certificate of Approval" form. Wage rates as determined by the Department of Labor and Industries in M.G.L. Chapter 149, Section 26 to 27F inclusive apply. Any bid amounting to over $10,000 must have a bid bond. Any bids including asphalt oils, portland cement or structural steel shall include a price adjustment clause that conforms to Chapter 90 program laws. Bids will be awarded on June 20, 2024 and the outcome will be mailed to all bidders. Please do not call for bid results. Mailing of bid results will be on June 21, 2024. All quantities are subject to town appropriations and may be deleted at any time because of insufficient funds. The Highway Surveyor reserves the right to reject any and all bids in the best interest of the Town.
