General Requirements - Installation Required - Insurance Required. The right to reject any and/or all bids is reserved. The college will not consider or accept a response received after the date and time specified above. 1 Remove existing finish floor materials in areas as indicated on the plans. 2 Remove existing wall base meterial in areas as indicated on the plans. 3 Prepare existing floor surfaces per manufacturer's requirements to accept new finish flooring. 4 Prepare existing wall base per manufacturer's requirements to accept new vinyl wall base. Henry Ford College (HFC) seeks to upgrade the flooring in five (5) classrooms in the Health Sciences Education Building (Building G) on main campus located in Dearborn, Michigan. The project will be constructed in one phase depending upon the Owner's approved budget. B. SCOPE OF WORK: The scope of the Contractor's work shall include: 1) Remove existing finish floor materials in areas as indicated on the plans. 2) Remove existing wall base material in areas as indicated on the plans. 3) Prepare existing floor surfaces per manufacturer's requirements to accept new finish flooring. 4) Prepare existing wall base per manufacturer's requirements to accept new vinyl wall base. 5) Install new finish flooring and wall base in areas indicated on the plans. 6) Protect all finish work to remain from damage during demolition. Repair of damaged existing finishes will be at the Contractor's expense. 7) Moving and covering furniture and placing all furniture back to its original place. 8) Cost of final cleaning which includes but is not limited to: vacuuming flooring material installed or affected directly by the project and dusting of all surfaces including walls, windowpanes, doors, furniture, and equipment. The project site is to be left in the same condition it was prior to construction. 9) Be responsible for the execution of this contract, including materials and workmanship of any firm acting as subcontractor. The Contractor shall be responsible for providing subcontractor(s) with complete and up to date drawings, specifications, or other information issued by the Architect or the College. A. If the Contractor chooses to subcontract any installation service or other portion of this specification, the Contractor shall fully warrant prompt performance of the subcontractor in a fully complete, workmanlike manner customary to the trade. B. Failure by the subcontractor to perform in a timely manner shall not relieve the Contractor of its obligations to make the complete and timely delivery of the products or services specified herein at no additional cost to HFC. 10) Coordinate installation schedules with the College. The College will work closely with the Contractor to provide all information necessary for the Contractor to meet deadlines. 11) Assign a project manager to the project who shall be responsible for all aspects of the work. The Contractor shall notify the College's designee of all work schedules and timelines. The College reserves the right to reject the Contractor's proposed project manager without penalty and to request a substitution. 12) Exercise due care throughout the installation and repair any damage to HFC property caused by the Contractor's workforce. 13) Store all equipment and materials at the Contractor's location until ready to begin work. There are no storage sites available at the College prior to the start of the work.
