STATEMENT OF WORK Grounds & Boiler Plant Overhead Door Safety Edges Installation & Motor Replacement New Jersey Healthcare System Lyons Campus BACKGROUND: The Department of Veterans Affairs, New Jersey Healthcare System (NJHCS) Lyons Campus is seeking overhead door safety edge installation and motor replacement for the facility s grounds and boiler plants. These doors are necessary to maintain facility functionality. SCOPE OF WORK: The contractor must provide all labor, tools, parts, travel, and personnel to accomplish the Grounds & Boiler Plant Overhead Door Safety Edges Installation & Motor Replacement services at the NJHCS Lyons Campus. This includes removal and replacement of the overhead door motors at Bldg. 14 (Boiler Plant), installation of new safety edges on the bottoms of the overhead doors at both Bldg.14 (Boiler Plant) and Bldg. 49 (Grounds Garage). Bldg. 14-Boiler Plant Contractor must remove and dispose of four (4) existing door operators. Contractor must furnish and install four (4) new 1/2HP Commercial Door Operators. Contractor must furnish and install four (4) wireless electronic safety edge with receivers on bottom of steel overhead doors. Contractor must make all necessary connections and adjustments. Contractor must cycle, set limits, and program door as necessary to ensure proper operation. Bldg. 49- Grounds Garage Contractor must furnish and install three (3) new bottom bars with 2 slats for doors 1,4,and 5. Contractor must furnish and install five (5) new safety edges with take up reels. Contractor must make all necessary connections and adjustments. Contractor must cycle, set limits, and program door as necessary to ensure proper operation. Upon completion, the contractor must ensure that all debris is cleaned up and removed from VA premises by contractor and all work is completed free of defects. The contractor must perform work in accordance with all VA, OSHA, and EPA safety policies. OTHER RELATED SERVICES (NOT INCLUDED IN STATEMENT OF WORK): Any services not expressly stated in this statement of work are not authorized and must be addressed by explicit written modification by the Contracting Officer. No other person, including the COR or any other VA personnel are authorized to request additional work be performed by the contractor. Any additional services performed that are not authorized by the contracting officer shall be considered inclusive. A Technical Evaluation Team comprised of representatives of the Department of Veterans Affairs will evaluate the proposals. The identities of the Technical Evaluation Team are confidential, and any attempt by the offerors to contact these individuals is prohibited. The evaluation will be based on the content of the proposal and any subsequent discussions, if necessary, as well as information obtained from other sources, e.g. past performance information. The proposal shall be comprehensive and demonstrates its understanding of the requirement and not a copy and paste of the SOW requirements. It shall outline the contractor s ability to perform the services adequately and satisfactorily in accordance with the SOW and the extent to which potential risks are identified and mitigated. B) Contractor Experience: The quoter shall provide three (3) instances of past-experience similar in nature, scope, complexity, difficulty, and size to that which will be supplied under the prospective contract contemplated by this solicitation.
