The City of Modesto is requesting the purchase of asphalt paving materials on an "as needed" basis, throughout the year. All asphalt paving materials shall be picked up by the Public Works Department, Streets Division. Written Questions Due via Email May 23, 2024 The Public Works and Utilities Departments has requested that the successful bidder be able to weigh in and weigh out loaded trucks within thirty (30) minutes maximum. The successful vendor shall notify the Streets, Water or Wastewater Divisions should there be any delays beyond the thirty (30) minute time frame. If necessary, the City reserves the right to use the secondary vendor assigned to this contract based on project size, location of job and proximity to the asphalt plant. Asphalt shall be Type A or if requested Type B, and shall conform to the provisions in Section 39, "Asphalt Concrete," of the Caltrans Standards Specifications. The City reserves the right to reject any or all Bids or to waive any informalities or minor irregularities in a Bid. No Bidder may withdraw its Bid for a period of ninety (90) days after the date set for the opening thereof. Bids will be received only at the address shown above, and prior to the time indicated. Any Bid received at or after said time and/or date, or at a place other than the stated address cannot be considered and will be returned to the Bidder unopened. All Bids, whether delivered by an employee of the Bidder, U.S. Postal Service, courier or package delivery service must be received and time stamped at the stated address prior to the time designated. The City Clerk's time stamp shall be considered the official timepiece for the purpose of establishing the actual receipt of Bids. Bids will not be accepted by email or facsimile. The City of Modesto assumes no responsibility for delay in the delivery of the Bid. An agreement shall be awarded to the Bidder whose Bid most closely satisfies the needs of the City and is deemed the most advantageous to the City.
