Site work for a civil project in Smithfield, North Carolina. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The project involves modifications to an existing sanitary sewage pump station. The work generally consists of constructing a new headworks facility consisting of a mechanical screen and grit removal, a 4.5 mgd triplex submersible sewage Effluent pump station, an 11 mgd triplex Equalization pump station, valve vaults, flow meter vaults, a pre-engineering building for electrical gear, yard pipe, diesel generator and various other improvements. Each Bid shall be submitted in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders and shall be accompanied by a Bid Security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the Bid. Bidders may not withdraw their Bids for a period of sixty (60) days after the actual date of the opening of the Bids. The Successful Bidder must furnish a one hundred percent (100%) Performance Bond and a one hundred percent (100%) Payment Bond with a surety company acceptable to the Owner. North Carolina law requires any contractor bidding on work in the State which costs $30,000.00 or more to show evidence that it is licensed under the "Act to Regulate the Practice of General Contracting." The Owner reserves the right to waive any informality in or to reject any or all Bids if deemed to be in its best interest. Bidder shall make positive efforts to use small and minority-owned businesses and comply with GS 143-128.
