The Wirth Park Tot Lot serves as the main community park playground. In 2024, the facility received a significant upgrade with the installation of up-to-date play structures and other amenities, which allows Wirth Park to remain a destination for families to gather in the community for the next 20-25 years with improved accessibility for all users. With the completion of the playground project, the need for enhanced and accessible restroom facilities adjacent to the playground was identified. Staff applied for and has been awarded a grant from the Department of Natural Resources, which will be combined with City borrowing and any fundraising proceeds remaining from the playground project to construct the restroom building. No significant operating budget impact is expected beyond utility and cleaning costs. As of May 6, 2025, this project is included in the City of Brookfield's Fiscal Year 2025-2029 CIP. Further information regarding a design firm and timeline for construction has not yet been established. Funding is allotted for FY 2025. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
