Renovation of a mixed-use development in Hoover, Alabama. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 2,640-square-foot, three-story above grade playground / park / athletic field.
** As of August 13,2025 , this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award has not yet been established.** Renovation of existing lake house operated by the city of Hoover Project Location: 300 Municipal Lane, Birmingham, Alabama 35216. The Contractor shall provide all necessary labor, materials, tools, permits, licenses and equipment required to complete the work. Contractor agrees that all work in Base Bid will be substantially complete within 180 calendar days from Notice to Proceed. A certified check or bid bond for the lessor of five percent (5%) of bid or $10,000 made payable to the City of Hoover must accompany each bid. Bidders must be properly licensed under the laws governing their respective trades and be able to obtain insurance and bonds required for the Work. The City of Hoover hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this invitation, Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE's) will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, gender, religion, age, disability, marital status or national origin in consideration of an award. The attention of Bidders is called to the provisions of Section 31-13-9, Code of Alabama 1975 relating to Immigration Law compliance and documentation thereof (i.e. participation the Federal E-Verify program). The successful Bidder will be required to sign a contract that includes the following provision related to Immigration: "By signing this contract, the contracting parties affirm, for the duration of the agreement, that they will not violate federal immigration law or knowingly employ, hire for employment or continue to employ an unauthorized alien within the state of Alabama. Furthermore, a contracting party found to be in violation of this provision shall be deemed in breach of the agreement and shall be responsible for all damages resulting therefrom." The award will be made to the lowest responsive bidder meeting specifications on the Base Bid plus accepted alternates. It is not the policy of the City of Hoover to purchase on the basis of low bid only. Quality, conformity with the specifications, purpose for which required, terms of delivery, and past service and experience are among the factors that may be considered in determining the responsive bidder The City of Hoover reserves the right to award separate contracts for each item, each product, or any combination of products if in the best interest of the City of Hoover. Upon the award of this contract and bid, the City of Hoover reserves the sole right to end said contract at their sole discretion. The demolition of existing outdoor covered structures and roofing. The construction of new outdoor covered areas, reroofing, paver rework, and other Work indicated in the Contract Documents. Alternates include the addition of an ADA parking area.
