The much-anticipated renovation of the Cooper Park Sports Complex improvements will take place in two phases. Current Phase I efforts include the restoration of the Cooper Soccer Complex, which includes the construction of 8 synthetic turf fields, LED field lighting, facility locker room area, concession & restroom improvements, ADA accommodations and other complex facility improvements. Phase II efforts will include the restoration of the Killian Softball Complex and the Cooper Youth Baseball Complex, which includes the construction of 11 synthetic turf fields, LED field lighting, concession & restroom improvements, ADA accommodations and other facility improvements. The project is included in the City's 2023-2028 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of April 22, 2025, the grand opening of the Cooper Soccer Complex synthetic turf fields and other renovations took place on March 29, 2025. This marked the completion of Phase 1. Phase 2, currently underway, calls for similar improvements at Killian Sports Complex and Cooper Youth Baseball Complex, including synthetic turf on 11 ballfields. Phase 2 is expected to be complete later this year. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
