Contract No. 04624 Project School Sidewalks-East Helena will construct a new ADA/PROWAG-compliant concrete sidewalk along the north side of Lewis St. between Montana Ave./Valley Dr. and Kalispell Ave. The new sidewalk will provide connectivity between Prickly Pear Elementary School and East Valley Middle School with ADA-compliant walkways. The new sidewalk will include ADA-compliant curb ramps at Valley Dr. and Prickly Pear Ave. and will connect to the existing sidewalk on the south side of the Prickly Pear Elementary School approach (via a school crossing across Montana Ave./Valley Dr.) and existing sidewalk on the NE corner of Kalispell Ave. and Lewis St. Other work will include placement of new asphalt and/or gravel adjacent to the new sidewalk for transitions to existing ground, minor excavation, erosion control, striping, signing, delineation, and revegetation. Two new solar-powered rectangular rapid flashing beacons (RRFBs) will be included on the NE corner of Valley Dr. and Lewis St. and on the south side of the Prickly Pear Elementary School approach.
