Demolition and new construction of a multi-residential development in Montreal, Quebec. Working plans call for the demolition of a multi-residential development; and for the construction of a 22,000-square-foot, two-story above grade, 18-unit multi-residential development.
Reconstruction of the municipal housing building Habitations Chester at 5210, 5220, 5222 Walkley Avenue in Montreal. The scope of the project includes the demolition of the existing building and construction of a new one that will house six one-bedroom, one two-bedroom and eleven three-bedroom units, common use areas and service equipment rooms. TIMELINE: Working drawings are ongoing. The owner has filed a demolition request and continues negotiations with the Côte-des-Neiges - Notre-Dame-de-Grâce borough to obtain a reconstruction permit and submitted a new grant application for construction funding under the Low-Rent Housing Renovation Program (PRHLM). Timelines for a tender and construction are not finalized pending required approvals and funding. Further update in fall/late 2026. Note. The project implementation was delayed by changes in the plans (shifting from renovation to demolition and reconstruction) and funding issues.
