Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Sauk Centre, Minnesota. Design plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.
As of June 27, 2025, per owner, the letting is scheduled for October 22, 2025, so no contractor has been selected at this point. Design team identified and they anticipate tree clearing to start sometime in January 2026. They have a tentative schedule for the bridge work, but that will be dependent upon the contractor. MnDOT needs professional and technical assistance for the development of final layout, construction limits, highway design plans, special provisions, wetland delineations and aquatic recourses for National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documents for State Project (SP) 7380-260 (I94). The project is located east of the city of Sauk Centre and west of the city of Melrose and is a bridge replacement and bridge overlay project. Bridge # 73805 and 73809 will be replaced and their sister bridges # 6896 and 6897 will be overlayed. The project will include replacing two bridges overlaying their sister bridges, replacement of guardrail, approach panels, and crossovers to facilitate traffic. To facilitate traffic crossovers will be constructed on each end of the set of bridges on I94. Project Goal The goal of this project is to develop a final layout, biddable final plan set and special provisions for SP 7380-260, I94. Construction support will also be required for any design questions during the construction of the project.
