The project includes improvements near the existing 25th Street pump station and the existing deep groundwater wells along 25th Street. The new flow meter location is in East St. Louis, IL near the intersection of I-64 and 25th Street. DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT This project consists of adding a new precast concrete vault that will contain two new flow meters installed on 12-inch piping that is the discharge from the 25th Street deep groundwater wells. The utility service to the flowmeter vault will be coordinated and installed by the Department. The Department will coordinate with the utility provider to set the electric meter and extend service with cable and conduit to a location near the new flowmeter vault. The Department will also set a rack adjacent to the flowmeter vault with a disconnect switch and an enclosure to house the flowmeter transmitters and Mission Alarm System. The Department will terminate the cables at the disconnect switch. The Department will provide the Mission Alarm System, including the remote terminal unit (RTU). Description. This work shall consist of temporary shoring, furnishing, and installing a new precast concrete vault for housing two new flow meters. The Contractor shall take precautions to prevent damage to existing structures that will remain in place while performing vault installation. The Contractor shall be responsible for any damage or destruction of the existing facility resulting from neglect. Whenever damage occurs, the Contractor will restore the damage to a condition equal to that existing before any such damage or destruction was done. Illinois state law requires a 48-hour notice to be given to utilities before digging. The Contractor shall coordinate with all applicable facilities prior to completing work. DESCRIPTION OF WORK.
