Site work and paving for a road / highway in West Wardsboro, Vermont. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
This project entails grinding the existing road surface and applying virgin asphalt to enhance safety, functionality, and aesthetics for residents and visitors. The goal is to provide a durable, smooth roadway that improves travel conditions along Cross Road. Project Scope: 1. Road Grinding: The selected contractor shall conduct milling or grinding of the current road surface (approx. 0.22 Miles) to full depth, ensuring the removal of deteriorated asphalt and preparing a smooth base for the new pavement. 2. Paving with Virgin Asphalt: The contractor shall pave 2.5” (type 2 base) and 1.5” Top (type 4 asphalt) and will not use any recycled asphalt products 3. Shouldering the road: The contractor will apply shoulder material 1’ wide by 4” deep, both sides for the road for .22 miles total length. 4. Surface Preparation: Prior to asphalt application, the contractor shall perform necessary surface preparation activities, including grading and compacting to ensure optimal and performance. 5. Quality Assurance: The contractor is responsible for adhering to industry best practices and quality standards throughout all project phases, including material selection, mixing, and application. 6. Traffic Control: The contractor shall implement appropriate traffic control measures to minimize disruptions to residents, businesses, and motorists during construction. This may include temporary road closures, detours, and signage as needed. 7.
