As of October 22, 2025, this project is under construction. The general contractor has been identified. RFP for design and construction of two 100 ft telecommunications towers Giles County is improving its Public Safety Communications System by adding two 100 ft tall towers at sites described below: Site 1 is at an existing water tank on Boy Scout Camp Road in Narrows, Virginia at approximate coordinates of 37.328148, - 80.848651. This tower will be a free-standing tower utilizing if possible, the existing water tank foundation and supported by connection to the water tank structure. Site is already owned by Giles County. Site 2 is on private property in the Whitegate community of Pearisburg, Virginia at approximate coordinates of 37.221137, -80.809764. This tower will be a guyed-wire tower with the final product at a minimum elevation of 100 feet above ground level. An agreement with landowner(s) for installation of this tower and access to the tower site from Walkers Creek Valley Road has been obtained by the County from the landowners.
