Site work and paving for a sidewalk / parking lot in Chipley, Florida. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.

New Sidewalks 2nd Street The City requires a business license tax be paid for the privilege of engaging in any business within the city limits. Please contact the Finance Office for a fee schedule. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of fifteen days after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids. Bid award will be made to the lowest responsive bidder, but the right is reserved to reject any or all bids. SECTION l-GENERAL This project consists of the construction of new sidewalk, gutter, (1) driveway, (2) ADA ramps, and the installation of (2) mailboxes. The new sidewalk will be approximately 300' and will be ADA compliant width of 5'. The sidewalk will begin at 680 2nd Street and run south along the west side of 2nd Street approximately 300' and end at the intersection of 2nd Street and North Railroad Avenue. The new sidewalk will meet the grade of the connecting sidewalk, at 680 2nd Street and the sidewalk at the intersection of 2nd Street and North Railroad Avenue. Anyone interested in bidding on this project should visit the site before bidding. SECTION ll-SIDEWALK 1. Lay out and mark the area of the new sidewalk. 2. Clear and grub, to meet level of existing sidewalk. 3. Remove and dispose of any material not used for backfill. 4. Cut walls of existing sidewalks to produce vertical edges. 5. Install forms as necessary to retain and support concrete. 6. Compact existing subgrade material to achieve maximum density. 7. Install full depth 3000 psi concrete to match existing sidewalks, install expansion joint material at connection to existing sidewalks. Concrete surface should be light broom finished to ensure traction. 8. Apply curing compound and/or provide protection against elements necessary to promote curing of new installation. 9. Remove forms and backfill adjacent disturbed areas using onsite material. 10. Sidewalk will be installed in accordance to attached exhibit (A) FDOT INDEX 522-001 Concrete Sidewalk. 11. Concrete shall be 3000 psi with fiber. SECTION lll- CURB AND GUTTER 1. Lay out and mark the area of the new curb and gutter. 2. Clear and grub, to meet level of existing curb and gutter. 3. Remove and dispose of any material not used for backfill. 4. Cut walls of existing curb and gutter to produce vertical edges. 5. Install forms as necessary to retain and support concrete. 6. Compact existing subgrade material to achieve maximum density. 7. Install full depth 3000 psi concrete to match existing curbs, install expansion joint material at connection to existing curbs. 8. Apply curing compound and/or provide protection against elements necessary to promote curing of new installation. 9. Remove forms and backfill adjacent disturbed areas using onsite material. 10. Curb will be installed in accordance to attached exhibit (B) FDOT INDEX 520-001 Curb and Gutter. 11. Concrete shall be 3000 psi with fiber. SECTION lV-Driveway 1. Lay out and mark the area of the new driveway . 2. Clear and grub, to meet level of existing sidewalk. 3. Remove and dispose of any material not used for backfill. 4. Cut walls of existing sidewalks to produce vertical edges. 5. Install forms as necessary to retain and support concrete. 6. Compact existing subgrade material to achieve maximum density. 7. Install full depth 3000 psi concrete to match existing sidewalks, install expansion joint material at connection to existing sidewalks. Concrete shall be 3000 psi with fiber. SECTION V-MAILBOX 1. The location and construction of mailboxes shall conform to the rules and regulations of the United States Postal Service as modified by this index. 2. The contractor shall give the Postmaster of the delivery route written notice of construction 7 days prior to beginning work, with Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays excluded. 3. The contractor shall furnish and install one mailbox in accordance with this Index at each mail patron delivery location and maintain the box throughout the contract period. The contractor shall apply box numbers to each patron box in accordance with identification specifications of the Domestic Mail Manual of the U. S. Postal Service; where local street names and house numbers are authorized by the Postmaster as a postal address, The Contractor shall inscribe the house number on the box. 4. The Contractor shall coordinate the removal of the patrons existing mailboxes. Immediately after installing the new mailboxes the Contractor must notify each "Mail Delivery Patron" by Certified Mail that removal of existing mailboxes must be accomplished in 21 days after receipt of notices. Patrons shall have the option of removing their existing mailboxes or leaving the mailboxes in place for removal by the Contractor; removal by the Contractor shall be included in the contract unit price for Mailbox, Each. The Contractor shall dispose of mailboxes and supports in areas provided by him. 5. Where an existing mailbox meets design requirements and is structurally and functionally sound , the Contractor at his option may elect to reuse the existing mailbox in lieu of constructing a new mailbox. Any use of existing mailboxes must be approved by the City. 6. Mailboxes shall be light sheet metal or plastic construction, in traditional style only, and only in size 1 as prescribed by the Domestic Mail Manual of the U. S. Postal Service (DMM). 7. Mailboxes shall be located on the right-hand side of the roadway in the direction of the delivery route. 8. Mailboxes shall be paid for under the contract unit price for Mailboxes, Each. Payment shall be full compensation for boxes, posts and accessory items essential for installation in accordance with this standard; erection; adjustments to suit construction needs; and, for identification letters and numbers. 9. Payment shall be limited to one mailbox per patron address whether the mailbox is new, reused, salvaged, reset or relocated. 10. The above compensation shall include any work and cost incurred by the contractor for removal and disposal of existing mailboxes. 11. Sidewalk will be installed in accordance to attached exhibit (D) FDOT INDEX 110 200 Mailboxes. SECTION Vl-ADA RAMP 1. Lay out and mark the area of the new sidewalk. 2. Clear and grub, to meet level of existing sidewalk. 3. Remove and dispose of any material not used for backfill. 4. Cut walls of existing sidewalks to produce vertical edges. 5. Install forms as necessary to retain and support concrete. 6. Compact existing subgrade material to achieve maximum density. 7. Install full depth 3000 psi concrete to match existing sidewalks, install expansion joint material at connection to existing sidewalks. Concrete surface should be light broom finished to ensure traction. 8. Apply curing compound and/or provide protection against elements necessary to promote curing of new installation. 9. Connecting to the new sidewalk on the north side (Dollar General) and on the south side, 2nd Street and HWY 90, the sidewalk will tie in. The new sidewalk shall match the grade of the existing sidewalks. Anyone interested in bidding on this project should visit the site before bidding. SECTION ll-SIDEWALK 1.
