On-Call Storm Support for Electric Systems Operations
PWC is seeking qualified utility contractors to provide electrical support construction services on an as-needed basis during emergency or storm situations. Areas of discipline include: Commercial & Residential Underground Distribution Construction The successful contractor/s will be responsible for providing personnel and equipment capable of installing and/or modifying all facets of commercial and residential underground utility equipment. The successful contractor/s will, in most cases utilize open-cut excavations to install conduits and cables and modify facilities along city streets and on private property. The successful contractor/s must be capable of installing, replacing, and modifying duct-bank systems, pre-formed vaults, site-formed vaults, manholes, manual and automated pad-mounted switchgear, pad-mounted transformers, and overhead-to-underground transitions within established commercial, industrial and institutional properties. The successful contractor/s must be capable of working around energized equipment and cables and scheduling clearances with customers to minimize disruption of utility services to connected customers. Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid bond of five percent (5%) of the bid executed by a surety company licensed under the laws of North Carolina to execute the Contract in accordance with the bid bond and upon failure to forthwith make payment, the surety shall pay the obligee an amount equal to the amount of said bond. Said deposit shall be retained by the Owner as liquidated damages in event of failure of the successful bidder to execute the Contract within ten (10) days after the Notice of Award or give satisfactory surety as required by law. Performance and Payment Bonds are required in the amount of 100% of the Contract amount and shall be furnished by the Contractor. No bids may be withdrawn after the scheduled Bid Opening for a period of ninety (90) calendar days. Fayetteville Public Works Commission reserves the right to reject any or all bids for any reason determined by PWC to be in its best interest, or to award the bid to the lowest responsible bidder or bidders, taking into consideration quality, performance, and the time specified in the bids for the performance of the contract. ***Bid Event: Bids must be enclosed in a sealed envelope addressed to JoAnn Bowman, Procurement Advisor, Fayetteville Public Works Commission, 955 Old Wilmington Road, Fayetteville, North Carolina 28301. The outside of the envelope must be marked SEALED BID: ON-CALL STORM SUPPORT FOR ELECTRIC SYSTEMS OPERATIONS and shall indicate the name, address and state license number of the bidder. Bids shall be submitted on the printed forms, or exact copies thereof, contained in the Contract Documents.
