Renovation of an educational facility in Raleigh, North Carolina. Design plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

Transform unused shop space into state-of-the-art wet-research laboratories within Burlington Labs, originally constructed in 1953 and expanded in 1973, to house three new faculty members. It encompasses architectural, mechanical, electrical, and exhaust system overhauls. The laboratories will be equipped with lab benches, optical tables, nanosecond and femtosecond lasers, wall-mounted gas cabinets, a pre-vacuum pump, an ion source, along with various other materials and equipment. One laboratory will specialize in studying the behavior of materials under conditions such as radiation, corrosion, stress, extreme temperatures, and in the development of ceramics, composites, nuclear fuels, and structural materials. Project Site: The project is located at 2500 Katherine Stinson Drive in the North Campus Precinct. As of September 6, 2024, this project is in design. The architect has been identified and information regarding the method of general contractor selection is unavailable. A firm construction timeline has not been established; however, construction could begin Q2 2025. Construction bidding anticipated May 2025.
