This project will consist of all labor and materials to upgrade plumbing in an unheated attic space to prevent freezing during periods of extreme temperatures. Contractor shall isolate and drain water from the system, remove old water piping and valves to drops in walls in attic, install new piping and valves, install heat trace on branches, and install sufficient insulation to prevent future freezing issues. Estimated Cost $30,000 Required for DCAMM contracts over $150,000, Highway Division contracts over $50,000. Isolate and drain water from the existing plumbing system. o Remove old water piping and valves to drops in walls in attic. o Install new piping and valves in attic. o Install heat trace tape on all branches to drops in walls. o Install new 2" thick insulation on all new piping. o Provide MA licensed electrician (for heat trace tape work) and insure of proper permits. o The vendor will be required to test plumbing and heat tape upon completion of the installation as part of this contract. The vendor is responsible for providing all materials and labor costs associated with a quality design as well as installation that is performed in accordance with all local, State, and Federal regulations. The Contractor shall commence work promptly upon receipt of the signed Contract and Notice to Proceed and shall reach substantial completion of the work no later than June 30, 2024.
