Pavement Rehabilitation: Ellice Avenue - Empress Street to Erin Street. The major components of the Work are as follows: (a) Pavement Rehabilitation (i) Planing of existing asphalt (lane or half road at a time); (ii) Installation of catch basins/catch pits and connection pipe; (iii) Renewal of existing sidewalk as required; (iv) Renewal of existing monolithic curb and sidewalk as required; (v) Installation of detectable warning surface tiles; (vi) Abandonment of existing drainage inlets; (vii) Full-depth concrete repairs of existing joints and slabs; (viii) Removal of asphalt and placement of new asphalt at railroad crossings; (ix) Renewal of existing barrier curb as required; (x) Construction of modified barrier curb; (xi) Renewal/construction of curb ramps; (xii) Adjustment of existing catch basins, manholes and appurtenances; (xiii) Placement of asphalt overlay (average thickness 80mm); (xiv) Restoration of boulevards and placement of sod The Contractor shall not commence the Work on the Site before August 6, 2024, and shall commence the Work on Site no later than August 19, 2024, as directed by the Contract Administrator and weather permitting. The Bidder shall include in their Bid Submission bid security in the form of a digital bid bond, in the amount of at least ten percent (10%) of the Total Bid Price, and agreement to bond of a company registered to conduct the business of a surety in Manitoba. (a) a performance bond of a company registered to conduct the business of a surety in Manitoba, in the form attached to these Supplemental Conditions (Form H1: Performance Bond), in the amount of fifty percent (50%) of the Contract Price; and (b) a labour and material payment bond of a company registered to conduct the business of a surety in Manitoba, in the form attached to these Supplemental Conditions (Form H2: Labour and Material Payment Bond), in an amount equal to fifty percent (50%) of the Contract Price. The Award Authority may reject all or any part of any Bid, or waive technical requirements or minor informalities or irregularities, if the interests of the City so require.
