Bid for Billy Johnson Hall installation of Boilers, Pumps and Associates Accessories Questions Due Date: Oct 30th 2024, 4:00 PM EDT This work will be performed at Billy Johnson Hall located on the Middlesex College Campus in Edison, New Jersey. The purpose of this project is to upgrade the existing heating system located in the mechanical room of the building. Billy Johnson Hall (BH) is a two-story building, with the mechanical room located in a below grade partial basement level. The building was constructed in 1990 and totals approximately 44, 024 square feet. The construction is steel frame/concrete composite and consist of engineering laboratories, study spaces, amphitheater-style lecture hall, classrooms, and administration areas for various departments. The College has pre-purchased the boilers, pumps, pump variable frequency drives (VFDs) piping specialties and pipe, valves and fittings. These materials shall be installed by the contractor. It will be the contractor's responsibility to inventory all of the items listed in Appendix A of this document and provide and install any and all additional materials required to complete the project, including insulation of the new boiler piping. The Boiler manufacturer's (Aerco) boiler start-up service has been pre-purchased by the College The contractor will be responsible for notifying the College when the boilers are ready for start-up so arrangements can be made by the College. The contractor shall provide all of the necessary labor, materials, tools, and equipment required to complete the work described on the drawings and in the specifications. a. BASE BID Install the three Owner supplied Aerco boilers, two end suction centrifugal base mounted pumps with flex-coupled motors, associated pipe, valves and fitting with required piping specialties, controls and necessary electrical. As necessary, remove piping, electrical, plumbing and other modifications as shown on the drawings to facilitate the Base Bid work. b. ALTERNATE 1 Demolish and remove abandoned piping as indicated on drawings. c. ALTERNATE 2 Demolish and remove existing Weil-McLain boiler. Abandon housekeeping pad in place.
