To furnish and install new clamp-on ultrasonic flow metering equipment for six (6) existing wastewater pump stations. Questions regarding this request should be directed to Al Theriault, Mechanical Electrical

and to accept the bid that appears to be in the best interest of the Town. Failure to submit
all information called for may be sufficient for disqualification. PURPOSE:
The intent and purpose of the Invitation for Bid is to establish a firm fixed price for all
labor, materials and equipment necessary to furnish and install new clamp-on ultrasonic
flow meters at existing wastewater pump stations throughout the Town. This project shall
include, but not be limited to, the contractor becoming familiar with all the sites and the
current and projected operating parameters of the lift stations, and installation of a
complete and usable flow monitoring system as stipulated per the Scope of Work,
General Terms and Conditions and Special Terms and Conditions.
This project generally consists of the following:
o Reviewing and evaluating the system for full understanding of what is
expected.
o Meeting with Derry Wastewater Division staff to get their input on the
daily operations of the system.
o Furnishing & installing new clamp-on ultrasonic flow meters at
designated locations within the existing sewer lift station drywell.
o Connecting low meter output to existing SCADA system.
o Connecting unit to existing electrical power supply.
o Calibrating units per manufacturer's specifications.
o Training Town staff on the operation and maintenance of new flow
meters. COMPLETION OF WORK:
The period of the contract shall be for a one (1) year period with the effective date to be
determined at the time of award. SCOPE OF WORK:
Within the designated wastewater pump stations, install a new SIEMENS SITRANS
FS220 ultrasonic clamp-on flow meter on the existing discharge piping. The new flow
meter shall be installed and connected to the power and signal cables provided by the
Town.
The Work includes, but is not limited to the following: The Contractor shall:
1. Become familiar with the Town's existing wastewater pump stations to fully
understand the needs of the Town.
2. Furnish and install clamp-on ultrasonic flow meter on the existing discharge
piping.
a. Flow meter shall be Seimens SITRANS FS220 consisting of an FST020
transmitter and FSS200 clamp-on sensor or approved equal and meet the
following general specifications:
i. Flow Range: 0.3 - 32 FPS
ii. Accuracy: Typically +/- 2% full scale
iii. Repeatability: Within +/- 0.1% ful scale
iv. Linearity: Within +/- 0.5% full scale
v. Output: 4-20 mA DC into 750 ohms maximum
vi. Totalizer: Eight Digit internal with multipliers of x1, x10, x100,
x1,000, and x10,000
vii. Temperature: 32o
to 122oF
viii. Humidity: 20 to 100%
ix. AC Power 115 or 240 VAC
x. DC Power: 24 VDC, 14.5 watts nominal
xi. Case: Thermoplastic housing
3. Investigate wastewater sites to ensure the Contractor has firsthand knowledge of
the existing system and to ensure the installed meters function per the client's
requirements.
4. The basis of award shall be based on the lowest Bid Total.
