Tazewell County is requesting bid proposals to install medical grade options for sheet vinyl
flooring and commercial grade carpet tiles. The county is seeking options, with pricing, for
various vinyl flooring and carpets at the Counties Health Department building located at its
Pekin site.
The Contractor shall provide all management, tools, supplies, equipment, and labor necessary to
perform all work in accordance with these specifications. Work shall include assuring the removal
of all flooring materials and preparing the surface to receive new medical grade vinyl flooring,
24'x24' carpet tiles, and cove base. The contractor shall provide all required floor patching,
leveling, and labor to remedy unusual requirements related to the installation or replacement of
flooring materials. The required work will be in Tazewell County Health Department Building.
This general outline of work does not, in any way, limit the responsibility of the Contractor to
perform all work as specified herein.
Work Included:
o Contractor shall supply all materials.
o Prepare and measure all surfaces to receive new flooring
o Remove existing cove base and flooring material as determined per project.
o Dispose of all waste off site/base.
o Install carpet tile as specified at locations identified in attached drawing.
o Install vinyl cove base for new flooring where required.
o Install metal transition strips where flooring joints at other floor finishes.
o Install other flooring as specified.
o Once a job is started, the contractor is expected to finish that job without delay, unless
directed. Weekends and Public Holidays are considered acceptable delays.
o The Contractor shall be responsible for disposal of all scraps and debris after installation
in a contactor supplied dumpster at an off-site location and vacuum the entire area where
flooring was installed. Disposal shall be in accordance with existing local, state, and federal
regulations and shall not be placed in site refuse dumpsters.
