Demolition and renovation of a restaurant in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 7,192-square-foot restaurant; and for the demolition of a 440,750-square-foot restaurant.
Question Deadline 05/21/2024 DESCRIPTION AND SCOPE OF WORK: The proposed scope of work renovates the existing Terrace Café at UNC-Health and expands into the adjacent former surgical clinic. Major renovation work will occur at the existing Terrace Café kitchen and will impact the operation of the space. This will include demolition of the entrance ramp, dry storage, office, and utility spaces as well as relocating the food prep areas. The adjacent surgical clinic will be demolished in its entirety to accommodate the expanded kitchen and dining space. The expanded dining area will provide approximately 95 new seats to accommodate the growing needs of the Terrace Cafe. Finishes in the dining area will be complimentary to the existing dining area. The existing public toilet rooms will receive new finishes and fixtures. These will also need to be closed to accommodate the renovation. The project area spans Smoke Compartments T and U and will be modified due to the proposed layout. Bids will be received for single prime bidding. All proposals shall be lump sum.
