Remodeling of a detention facility in Austin, Texas. Completed plans call for the remodel of a detention facility.
Correctional Complex Remodeling for Buildings 106, 130, and 160 - The purpose of the Travis County Correctional Complex existing buildings 106, 130 and 160 remodeling work is to provide improved services to the staffs and inmate population. The total anticipated building conditioned area approximately 22,924 SF. This comprises with Task 1 (Bldg. 130), Task 2 (Bldg. 106), Task 3 (Bldg. 160 C-Post), Task 4 (Bldg. 160 B-Post, Lower), Task 5 (Bldg. 160 B-Post, Upper) and Task 6 (Bldg. 106 E-Post). Q & A deadline: Jun 07, 2024 3:00:00 PM CT HUB-15.79% Scope of Services A. Task 1 1. Re-purpose approximately 18,670 SF unused spaces to construct maximum numbers of cells of different categories. See attached sketch, refer to in the folder titled, "Sketches." B. Task 2 1. Re-purpose approximately 2,116 SF spaces to convert 5 rooms into 5 cells, 3 large cells into 5 cells, 2 VC cells into 2 OBS. The current spaces to be divided by a wall in the common area, allowing 6 cells to either a part of David East or David West depending on population needs and cells as required. See attached sketch, refer to BidSync in the folder titled, "Sketches." C. Task 3 1. Re-purpose approximately 241 SF spaces to convert 1 VC cell into 1 SEP cell with isolated dayroom. See attached sketch, refer to BidSync in the folder titled, "Sketches." D. Task 4 1. Re-purpose approximately 1532 SF (Lower level) spaces dividing it into two complete separate areas by constructing a new staircase separated by a wall in the middle. Remove 1 cell from each side for showers. Each side will have 5 cells upon completion of remodel. This separation must comply with the Texas Commission on Jail Standards on sound and sight. The existing typical staircase to be demolished. See attached sketch, refer to BidSync in the folder titled, "Sketches." E. Task 5 1. Like Task 4, re-purpose approximately 1532 SF (Upper level). Upper-level cells remain the same. Only One cell lost on this level from G unit. This separation must comply with the Texas Commission on Jail Standards on sound and sight. See attached sketch, refer to in the folder titled, "Sketches." F. Task 6 1. Re-purpose existing approximately 365 SF spaces to convert 4 VC cells into 4 OBS cells. See attached sketch. G. The remodel and space planning works includes but not limited to the following: 1. Demolition of existing rooms, walls, windows, floors, ceilings, staircase, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, smoke evacuation, fire alarm, fire sprinkler, security control and re-design & reconstruction of the same architectural, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, fire and security control systems as required to comply with the Texas Commission on Jail Standards, International Building Codes, and all other job related codes with local amendments. The consultants should be responsible to perform all work such as site survey, project schedule, design, drawings, and specifications, bid package, estimated construction cost, bid review and recommendation, permitting, and construction administration throughout to the project completion. The consultants are required to perform the above work with due diligence; ensure no scope creep in the project deliverables to complete the project on time and within budget.
