Demolition, site work, renovation and addition to a mixed-use development in Oologah, Oklahoma. Completed plans call for the addition of a water / sewer project; for the demolition of a water / sewer project; for the renovation of a water / sewer project; for site work for a water / sewer project; pre-engineered storage facility; pre-engineered storage facility; pre-engineered storage facility; and pre-engineered storage facility.
A bid bond payable to the Owner must accompany each bid for five percent of the total amount of the bid. As soon as the bid prices have been compared, the Owner will return the bonds of all except the three lowest responsible bidders. When the agreement is executed, the bonds of the two remaining unsuccessful bidders will be returned. The bid bond of the successful bidder will be retained until the payment bond and performance bond and/or statutory bond have been executed and approved, after which it will be returned. A certified check may be used in lieu of the bid bond. Construction, Maintenance and Statutory Bonds in the amount of 100% of the contract price are required for this project. These bonds must be obtained from a Corporate Surety Licensed in Oklahoma, and approved by the Owner and Consulting Engineer. The bidder shall state in the proposal the name and address of the Surety or Sureties who will sign this bond in case the contract is awarded. The Maintenance Bond required will guarantee the repair of all damage due to improper materials or workmanship for a period of two (2) year after the acceptance of the work by the Owner. The Owner has allotted 512 calendar days for this project. The contractor acknowledges that Liquidated damages of $1,000.00 dollars per calendar day will be accessed after the allotted time period. The Owner may waive any informalities or minor defects or reject any and all bids. Any bid may be withdrawn prior to the above-scheduled time for the opening of bids or authorized postponement thereof. Any bid received after the time and date specified shall not be considered. No bidder may withdraw a bid within 60 days after the actual date of the opening thereof. Should there be reasons why the contract cannot be awarded within the specified period, the time may be extended by mutual agreement between the Owner and the bidders. The Contractor shall accept the payment from the Owner, as herein provided in the Contract, as full payment for the following: o Providing all materials, equipment, labor, tools, and incidentals necessary to complete the work. o Performing all work required by the Contract. o Loss or damage arising from the nature of the work, or from the action of the elements, or from any unforeseen difficulties. o All risks of every description connected with the prosecution of the work. o All expenses incurred because of the suspension or discontinuance of work. o Any infringement of patent, trademark, or copyright; and o Completing the work as required by the Contract. The payment of any progressive estimate will not relieve the Contractor of its obligations to repair or remove and replace defective work or materials. Furnish to the Engineer (6) six copies of an Operation and Maintenance Manual with CD Rom disc's for all equipment and associated control systems furnished and installed. This specification section covers the work necessary for the excavation and backfill of all trenches excavated for pipe and conduit with the related work necessary to complete the project as shown or specified in the Contract Documents and on the Construction Plans. This specification is to govern the furnishing of all materials, labor, equipment, tools, superintendence, and other services necessary to construct water mains, and service lines complete with appurtenances including extensions and relocations at the locations shown on the plans or specified. The extent of this work for service lines intended to provide service to a benefit unit whether, existing or proposed, is to the designated connection point. All external connections are to and include point and manner of connection as defined on the project drawings. This section governs materials for water mains and service lines having a diameter as shown on project drawings. Water line construction shall include the necessary clearing, grubbing, and preparation of the ROW; removal and disposal of all debris; excavation and trenching as required; the handling, storage, transportation, and disposal of all excavated material; all necessary sheeting, shoring, and protection; preparation of sub-grades; pumping and dewatering as necessary or required; protection of adjacent property; handling and installation of water line; and other appurtenant work.
