Reference Number 0000352613 Delivery Point As Specified Purchase Type One Time Only- Delivery Date: As Specified in Bid Document The Firefighters Park Sprague Drain Habitat Improvement project is a re-alignment of the Sprague Drain passing through Firefighters Park. This re-alignment work is composed primarily of earth moving and grading work, the removal of existing pedestrian bridges, the installation of a 19.5 ft (span) by 7.5 foot (rise) three-sided precast concrete culvert for ADA accessibility, and supplemented with streambank stabilization and native pollinator vegetation establishment for improving native vegetation and wildlife habitats. Project Outcome Statement: This project involves the control of invasive species over approximately 8.5 acres; the construction of bankfull benches on portions of the existing drain to create floodplain connectivity; transforming approximately 990 feet of existing stream into approximately 1,073 feet of new stream; the construction of various in-stream structures, including two rock cross vanes, 553 feet of toe wood bank stabilization on pool bends, 273 feet of riffles, and riprap within the newly relocated channel; impacting 600 feet of the existing stream channel for the construction of riffles and pools, bioengineering, and in-stream structures; the removal of an existing 9.4-foot wide by 47-foot long footbridge over the stream, and the construction of a 16- foot Precast Three-Sided, 19.5-foot span by 7.5-foot rise culvert. Approximately 990 feet of the original stream channel shall be abandoned and backfilled to bankfull elevations (at minimum) with spoil/surplus material from other proposed earthwork. Four clay channel plugs shall be used to block abandoned sections of the stream channel. An existing grassed detention basin shall be converted into a floodplain/wetland habitat by planting native vegetation. Approximately 73 trees will be removed and used for the toe wood structures.
