The objective of the RFP and subsequent contracting activity is to secure the services of an experienced contractor who is capable of conducting an asbestos survey and removal of various residential structures for the Tangipahoa Parish Private Properties Debris Removal and Demolition Project through Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Tangipahoa Parish will need to demolish various condemned properties throughout the Parish, as listed below, due to Hurricane Ida once FEMA approves the projects. Before such takes place, the Parish will need an asbestos inspection from a certified asbestos testing firm to show which parts (if any) of the home contain asbestos that must be removed before demolition and disposal. Then a price for asbestos removal will be needed if there is asbestos found. This work will be coordinated through the Parish and the Debris Management Consultant, hired by the Parish. The Parish will award the contract to the respondent obtaining the highest recommendation based upon a parish selection committee review of the written Request for Proposals. Tangipahoa Parish Government reserved the right to reject or accept any proposals or waive any irregularities in any proposals deemed to be in the best interest of the Parish.
