Wastewater System Feasibility Study. Scope of Work 1. Review and analyze existing land conditions including drinking water well locations, wetlands, floodplains, soil types, etc. 2. Develop a conceptual layout of proposed wastewater conveyance systems, create map(s) of same. 3. Gather existing data and reports on septic systems within the study area including number of failures, average cost of replacement. 4. Determine existing and projected flow characteristics of the overall study area and watersheds. The Project Area encompasses the entirety of the Village of Burdett, a compact, walkable village of approximately one square mile. It also includes a portion of the Town of Hector, mainly along State Route 414, which is part of the Finger Lakes Wine Trail and includes many wineries, breweries, and restaurants (see map of Project Area, Appendix A) The Village of Burdett and the Town of Hector are located along the eastern shore of Seneca Lake in Schuyler County, New York. Based on the 2020 census, the Village of Burdett had a population of 479 residents; the town of Hector 4,916. The village and portions of the town are served by the Hector Water District, which provides municipal water to approximately 645 customers. Contract term: One Time. Location: Village of Burdett and Town of Hector The Village of Burdett and the Town of Hector are seeking an engineering firm to conduct a feasibility study to determine the cost of developing a municipal wastewater system to replace private septic systems within the Village of Burdett and a section of the Town of Hector along State Route 414.
