The work involves coatings rehabilitation at the City's Plant No 3 and Plant No. 5 sites and other miscellaneous improvements. The work to be conducted at the City's Plant No. 3 site generally includes: Adhesion testing on the existing welded steel tanks coating system. Complete removal of all interior coating and recoating of two (2) 2.2 MG welded steel water storage tanks, and interior appurtenances. Spot repair of exterior surfaces and complete recoating of two (2) 2.2 MG welded steel water storage tanks and exterior appurtenances. Spot repair of exterior coatings and complete recoating of two (2) 14,000 gal (approximate volume) hydropneumatic tanks and appurtenances. Spot repair of exterior coatings and complete recoating of four (4) booster pump discharge pipe assemblies and appurtenances. Spot repair of exterior coatings and complete recoating of one (1) reservoir fill control pipe assembly and appurtenances. Installation of four forced balanced flexible expansion joints at the reservoir inlet and outlet pipe assemblies. Replacement of inlet and outlet isolation valves. Installation of a new isolation valve. Engineers' Estimate: $2,000,000 to $2,400,000 Each bid shall be submitted on a form furnished as part of the Contract Documents and must be accompanied by cash, a cashier's check, a certified check, or a bidder's bond executed by an admitted surety insurer, or substitute pursuant to Section 995.710 of the Code of Civil Procedure, in an amount not less than 10% of the amount of the bid, made payable to the order of or for the benefit of the City The check or bond or substitute shall be given as security that the bidder will enter into a contract with the City and furnish the required payment and performance bonds, or substitutes in lieu thereof, and certificates of insurance and endorsements if awarded the work, and will be declared forfeited if the bidder refuses to timely enter into said contract or furnish the required bonds or substitutes, or certificates of insurance and endorsements if his bid is accepted. The City Council of the City reserves the right to select the schedule(s) under which the bids are to be compared and contract(s) awarded, to reject any and all bids, and to waive any and all irregularities in any bid.
