Demolition, site work and asbestos abatement for a municipal facility in Charleston, South Carolina. Completed plans call for the demolition of a municipal facility; for site work for a municipal facility; and for asbestos abatement for a municipal facility.
The South Carolina Ports Authority (SCPA) is accepting bids for Abatement & Demolition of six (6) buildings along, and in the vicinity of, Milford Street in Charleston, South Carolina. The Work shall be performed in accordance with the attached Specifications and Attachments and involves the complete removal of six buildings, including the removal of all building contents. The work includes, but is not limited to, the: abatement of asbestos containing material (ACM), control of lead-containing paints, removal and disposal of all salvageable and unsalvageable materials, removal and disposal of all building contents, disposal/management of hazardous materials, utility disconnections, and the complete demolition of the structures to the concrete floor slab in accordance with the requirements stated herein. Construction drawings for the buildings and the existing utilities that serve them are unavailable. Floor plans for each building, based on field measurements and observations, are included in the provided Asbestos Survey Reports. Utility locations based on field observation are provided in Attachment 3 of the Specifications. During their site visit, each Bidder shall observe each building to determine the level of effort required to disconnect all utilities, remove and dispose all building contents, perform required abatement, and demolish and dispose of all buildings. The Bidder will be required to remove all floor finishes to the concrete slab. The concrete slabs, and underlying building foundations, will be demolished under a separate contract.
